Our Rescue Dogs
2003-2008
Chip, a very sweet boy who was left tied to a tree. He kept showing up on the city streets of a city an hour from us. We were so happy to give him some baths, fur trims, flea treatments, and the big meals he wanted ! Chip was returned to his breeder on his microchip,
6-2003
Our vet called us about Fancie and her 5 siblings at 7 weeks old. All pups had severe staff infections and lost lots of fur when their "back yard" breeder called for relief. We brought them all home to heal. Fancie is spayed and rehomed. 2004
Hansey was unwanted after a family sold their livestock. She was bred to her father, "Pete", who is pictured below along with the resulting litter. 4-2005
Dave the Barbarian was the resulting Great Pyr/black Lab pup after livestock owners allowed their Great Pyrenees female guardian (pictured to left) to remain with their goats unproteced during her heat. Dave was raised with goats here with us and his Lab genetics never got in the way of being a wonderful guardian. We had Dave neutered and rehomed him with a very nice familly.
Sonya and Captain came to us at 6 and 7 years old having NEVER had any Rabies, Heartworm, or vaccination shots !! They both had severe heartworms. We brought them through these painful treatments, gave them good baths, and fell in love with these two gentle dogs. 2-2006
Moose is an 8 month old pup who was originally a loved pet puppy. Due to different circumstances, his care could not be continued. When we were told about Moose by our local shelter, he had raw wounds on his back legs from being hit and run over by a truck during the time that he was running free on the streets. He is a very smart, personable pup. We neutered Moose and rehomed him with a large family. Moose can now play ball all day long ! 7-2008
Very fondly remembered is Edith who we rescued from a Humane Society in a nearby town. I never took her picture. She died of cancer shortly afterwards. 2004.
These two Great Pyrenees/Lab brothers were headed to the gas chamber in a local Humane Society in our area. We found a wonderful home for one brother with a family in North Dakota, and the other brother we are keeping here to train for therapy work.

Two months after the above two pups were rescued, we heard of another litter of "Oops" puppies from an owner of a Great Pyrenees guardian female and their neighbor's black lab male. All pups in this litter found happy homes, and we gave this last little gal a home with us. She has double dew claws on both her rear legs !
